About Beachfest

The Beachfest Emancipation Celebration is an all-day family event that is free and open to the public. This year’s celebration will satisfy all appetites and interests, featuring the best of Bermuda’s bands and DJs playing a diverse range of original music. During the day, there are fun sports and games to get the crowd alive and cheering for their favourites on the sand. This annual celebration of Youth, Arts, Culture and Community held on the world famous Horseshoe Bay Beach coincides with the first day of Cupmatch, Emancipation Day. It is in this spirit that we unite a community of varied ages, races and backgrounds to celebrate all of the things Bermuda has been known for since the beginning; beautiful scenery, friendly people, live music and righteous vibes! This is the major fundraiser and celebration held by The Chewstick Foundation, who strive year-long within the Bermudian community to promote the principles of Respect, Freedom, Love and Truth. Sports & Fun

You are invited to come out and support one of the most exciting events of the year, simply by getting a team into the action to compete for great prizes and to support a worthy cause. Oh, and of course, bragging rights! Each year we have endeavored to inject even more sporting action into Beachfest, and this year the competition includes Football, Volleyball, Rugby and Fun Games. There is limited space available in each tournament so sign-up early to make sure you have a place!

Tournament sign-up/check-in is at 12 PM and the tournaments begin at 2 PM.

General Rules & Regulations
• Sports are open to anyone over the age of 16.
• Teams must comprise 5 players (4 on the field at a time, does not include tennis).
• Teams must be able to provide 1 player as a referee should they be needed.
• Teams must be checked in by 2pm to ensure entry into tournament.
• This is a fun tournament and no rough-housing/inappropriate behavior will be tolerated.
• All necessary fees must be paid before tournament start.
• Individual Sport rules will be explained on the sand.

Beachfest would not be able to function without the help of our volunteers. We would love any help you can offer at any time you are willing to give to us. There is a whole variety of jobs that we need filling and are looking to organise some set shifts of people to help us out. Beachfest would not be possible without the support of our dedicated Sponsors. To ensure that Beachfest remains a free, safe event that encourages Bermuda to unite on Emancipation Day, we need Sponsorship help! The funds raised during Beachfest go directly back to The Chewstick Foundation’s work with at-risk youth. If you would like to make a donation, or receive more information about becoming a sponsor, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will gladly send you a sponsorship package.

If you’re a little guy looking to help out on the day, we’re always in need of volunteers for Beachfest. Another way to help us fundraise is by leaving your cooler home and drinking from the Beachfest bar- prices are reasonable, you don’t have to lug your cooler around and the proceeds go to an awesome cause! You can also stop by our admin tent and give us a donation- every little bit helps!
